Our Approach to Developing Strong, Resilient Athletes

Kenaz offers a youth athlete development program designed to propel young athletes (10-18 years old) to success by addressing 3 crucial areas:

Maximizing Performance

A key factor in a young athlete's success lies in the effort they invest outside their sport to enhance their performance. Our program begins by meticulously assessing and correcting muscle imbalances, establishing a robust foundation for further growth.

We prioritize teaching fundamental movement patterns and proper techniques, paving the way for improvements in power, speed, strength, and muscular endurance. By incorporating functional range of motion and mobility training, we aim to optimize the athletes' physical capabilities and ensure well-rounded development.

Facilitating Recovery

The second key to athletic triumph is effective recovery, which enables young athletes to train harder, longer, and more frequently than their competitors. Our program educates youth athletes on the significance of proper recovery, emphasizing factors such as quality sleep and nutrition.

By imparting knowledge about recovery strategies, including mobility exercises, we empower young athletes to bounce back quicker, reduce fatigue and enhance overall performance.

Injury Prevention

The longevity of an athlete's career is often linked to their ability to avoid injuries. While complete prevention isn’t possible, our program is designed to significantly decrease both the frequency and severity of injuries.

  • Assessing and correcting muscle imbalances across all joints

  • Building functional strength throughout the full range of motion

  • Mastering fundamental movement patterns

  • Providing education on recovery

In the event of an injury, immediate care and rehabilitation support are prioritized.

Why Youth Athlete Training Matters

Success in sport doesn’t come only from practices and games. The biggest advantage today comes from what young athletes do outside their sport:

  • building proper movement patterns

  • strengthening foundational muscles

  • improving speed, power, and coordination

  • learning how to recover between practices

  • reducing injury risk as training demands increase

Young athletes who train properly develop confidence, physical literacy, and long-term athletic ability — skills that will support them through high school, college, and beyond.

Who This Program Is For

Our Youth Athlete Training Program is ideal for:

  • Competitive athletes preparing for tryouts, showcases, or club seasons

  • Youth athletes building foundational strength and movement skills

  • Multi-sport athletes needing balanced training

  • Kids experiencing recurring pain or overuse issues

  • Athletes rehabbing past injuries who need correct movement patterns

  • Parents looking for supervised, safe strength and performance training

Sessions take place inside our private Langley facility — no gym membership required. Online + hybrid options are available.

How Training Works

Our youth athletes start with a simple movement and strength assessment to understand their needs. From there, we build a personalized training plan based on their sport, age, and goals. Sessions focus on proper technique, safe progressions, and long-term development. Never rushed, never one-size-fits-all.

We can help young athletes achieve their goals from the comfort of their own homes, at our Kenaz facility, or at a gym of their choice. Given the demands of balancing school and extra-curricular activities, many of our young athletes choose to complete our customized programs online through our Trainerize app. We use the app to facilitate goal setting, nutrition tracking, and program progress. The app's accountability features also allow our coaches to connect with the athletes on a day-to-day basis to help them stay motivated and feel supported.
